Continue ShoppingMy goal is to produce dogs capable of Dual purpose police K9 work (Patrol and Detection). Producing a capable dog is about selection and proper rearing. With that said, many won't make the cut. That is not to say those that don't make the cut are of no value, rather they most likely won't grow into a candidate for dual purpose work. They may be more capable of single purpose (detection) or sport work or some other activity.
I'm very critical of pups and would not sell a pup that I thought wouldn't be appropriate for a job. At those early stages, you just cannot know for sure what the pup will turn into, but if it shows bad signs as a pup, I haven't seen that improve with age. It's better to buy an older pup or young adult if acquiring a police K9 is your goal.
Pups are started at an early age developing biting techniques and exposing them to various environmental stressors.
